It is both with great joy and regret that I welcome you to the electronic pages of our community.
Joy, because -through your journey -you will be acquainted with the history of Pano Amiantos and to its contribution to the economy of Cyprus. Regret, because I am obliged to convey to you the huge problem of survival that we face as a community.

After many years of struggle and contribution to our homeland, our reward is eviction from the houses in which we -and our children -were born. We see the labors and the dreams of a whole lifetime thrown out in the street, without knowing what the future holds for us.

Twenty-eight years after the Turkish invasion and thousands of our compatriots becoming refugees, the government -like a third Attila - tries to create new refugees, and this at a time when it announces new economic measures for the support of the countryside so as to prevent the urban pull.

I believe that with good will and attitude, a solution can be found for the problem of Pano Amiantos and then -truly - we will welcome you with great joy and guide you through this historic community of Cyprus.
